Not an email. A sentence. “The launch moves to Thursday.” That is the whole meeting. That is the content that was spread, thinly, like margarine, across forty-five minutes and nine people, two of whom were on mute the entire time and one of whom was, I am fairly sure, driving.
We did an icebreaker. The icebreaker was “what’s your favourite season” and I said autumn and nobody wrote it down because it did not matter, which is also true of the meeting.
I am not against meetings. I am against meetings as a way of proving that a thing happened. If the launch moved, it moved. Tell me. I will believe you. I will even reply “thanks” so you have a record. What I cannot do is pretend that a calendar invite is a form of work.
